Casalferro vineyard’s brown earth type of soil, of clay loam texture and poor in organic matter, determines the exclusive personality of this great Chianti Merlot.

Harvest: the best grapes of Casalferro vineyard were hand-picked from September 13 to 24, 2013
Ageing: 18 months in barriques and tonneaux
Bottling: July 2015
Alcohol: 14%

Tasting notes

Intense ruby red in color. The nose is powerful with balsamic eucalyptus and ripe red fruit aromas. The wine is elegant and sharp, with soft tannins and long finish.  A cru of Merlot that reflects the terroir of Brolio.
