COLLEDILÀ Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
Distinctive traits: ripe red fruit and plum, complex and elegant structure
This single vineyard Sangiovese lies on a clayey-calcareous soil, known as “alberese”, in the geological formation of Monte Morello, one of the most representative typologies of the Chianti Classico denomination: very stony soil, rich in calcium carbonate and clay and poor in organic substance.
Harvest: on October 10 the best grapes of Colledilà vineyard were hand-picked
Ageing: 18 months in 500 litre-tonneaux, of which 30% new and 70% second passage
Bottling: September 30, 2016
Ruby red color with light garnet reflections. Complex nose, with hints of ripe fruit, and sweet notes of vanilla and white chocolate. The palate, elegant and soft, shows the perfect balance between acidity and tannins that is typical for the Sangiovese grown in this vineyard.
